Consider/Approve Paper Bid for the 2014 – 2015 School Year

Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids from Liberty Paper, Lanzer, Inc., R. J. Young, Howard D. Happy Co., Contract Paper Group, Inc., Office Services, Learning House, American Paper & Twine, J D Distributors, and Staples for the purchase of duplicating paper (10,000 reams, specifications attached), which will be budgeted in the General Purpose School Fund for the 2014 – 2015 fiscal year. We received bids for this purchase as follows:

Contract Paper Group – $24,830
JD Distributors – $26,300
Lanzer’s – $27,800
Staples – $31,990

This year’s bids were very competitive with Contract Paper Group submitting the low bid that met all bid specifications.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the low bid meeting all specifications as submitted by Contract Paper Group. With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014.
